About
I’m Alexey Golev — a self‑taught developer from a small town in Ukraine. Over the years I’ve worn different hats — Data Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer and Software Engineer as well as lived in and traveled to a few countries. I have been interested in financial markets for a while, managing both classic and crypto portfolios along the way.
I have decided to focus on quantitative research and development, building systematic trading strategies as liked scientific approach to make decisions and use of computing power to execute them. This blog is my lab notebook: a place to share the lessons I’ve learned and continue to learn in designing, backtesting, and deploying algorithmic strategies.
A few random facts:
- I trained judo intensively as a child — it was a great teacher of resilience.
- I’m currently learning to play tennis, and loving required focus and challenges it brings.
- I value deep work, individualism, and creativity, yet enjoy collaborating with smart, driven people.
